CONSERVATIVES HOLD HILLINGDON
The Conservatives marginally increased its Hillingdon Council majority from 42 seats to 44, despite being identified by Labour as a key battleground during the 2018 English local elections.
Expansion works at Warrender Primary School and Hillside Infant and Junior Schools started in January, as part of Hillingdon Council's £153 million drive to create more primary school places for local children.
New term for secondary school
Ray Puddifoot, leader of Hillingdon Council, and Boris Johnson, MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, officially opened Oak Wood School on 2 February, unveiling a plaque in the entrance hall.
